There are many perks to getting to work in the publishing industry, but the best part about my career is getting to talk about books every day with book lovers. Sometimes we chat about what we read over the weekend, sometimes we talk about what we read on the way in to work that morning. Whatever it is we discuss, there is one constant factor we all have in common and that is that we all have never ending book piles. I know I have a collection growing on the floor beside my bed and on my bookshelf at work. So when the topic came up, we decided it was time we organized a readthon to chip away at these reading piles and the Random House of Canada’s Olympic Readathon was born.
Here are the details from the post on Retreat by Random House:
The 2012 Olympics are running from July 27th – August 12th and we want to participate in the fun in the form of a reading challenge!
Sign up here and set your Olympic Page Reading Goal! Be sure to keep track of how you’re doing throughout the Olympics!
Do some stretches, maybe some lunges and get set to read as much as you can during July 27th – August 12th!
I hope you’re able to sign up, follow your fellow #OlympicReadathon’s on Twitter and join in the fun!
Happy Olympic Reathon-ing!
