Review: Fifty Shades of Grey – E L James

Have you seen the cover of E L James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey” everywhere in the last couple of weeks? It’s been talked about on the National by Peter Mansbridge, it’s the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week and People Magazine has article after article about it on their website every day.

You’ll quickly understand the hype surrounding E L James trilogy about the steamy romance between Christian Grey and literature student/virgin Anastasia Steele by the time you hit page twelve. I can’t really beat around the bush when it comes to the genre of this book, it’s erotica pure and simple. It’s hot, it’s sexy and every time I talk about it with anyone in person, I instantly blush.

You’ll meet young, naive Anastasia who is intrigued by Christian Grey, millionaire of a successful business. He’s closed off, he’s different than other men she knows and she is blown away the second he embraces her in an elevator, because he has to have her. I kid you not, you will not look at elevators the same way after reading that passage. But the elevator scene is just the tip of the iceberg, because there’s a lot more to the charming, sexy, brooding (oh I could go on) Christian Grey. It’s fair to say that we don’t always knows what goes on behind closed doors, but what you’ll find behind the doors of Christian Grey’s home will have you intrigued and flushed.

From the sounds of it, the Erotica genre is here to stay and after reading “Fifty Shades of Grey“, I’m a-okay with it!

The trade paperback edition is in store on April 3rd! E L James 2nd and 3rd book in the trilogy are “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed“.

Oh and just because I’m in LOVE with the cover of Entertainment Weekly, I had to share the magazine’s cover that will be on newsstands this week, can you say HOT!
